Grace Lutheran Church (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America--ELCA) in Ft. Washington, Maryland has an immediate opening for a church organist. This position reports to the church council and includes no benefits other than three paid Sundays off per year.

We have an established choir and ideally, the organist would also be willing to direct the choir for at least six months of year.

Hours per week: Estimated 10 hours per week. May be adjusted accordingly.

Salary:  Starts at $10,000 - $15,000 annually

For a typical service, the organist will play a prelude, liturgical music and hymns, music during the offertory and communion, and a postlude.  Service music and hymns are drawn primarily from Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW).  The organist is also expected to play for Wednesday evening services during Lent.  Other resource suggestions are welcome.
